Fantastic post office, very friendly staff & great convenience store all in one place. Also very clean & tidy - I have to travel past two other stores to get to this one but in some of the other stores I would almost say that I don’t feel safe!

We've used Newtown Stores for 29 years, all the staff are well trained and deliver Great customer service, the post office side of the store has always given me everything I've needed, Michael and Michelle put a lot of hard work into their business, and when needed they go beyond the call of duty, the service they provide is all about meeting the needs of our Commuity, they always show concideration and consistency, over the years I feel we have become friends with them both, the only problem I have is..Michelle never sells me a winning lottery ticket.? Very unpleasant service, refused to give me a proof of postage, awful attitude. The shop is unkept. I would rather drive miles away to a different post office to receive friendly and professional service. They remove negative reviews to make themselves look good.

I have always found the staff friendly and efficient but today told me otherwise. When I walked into the post office area the owner was talking to a customer she finished serving her and carried on chatting completely ignoring me even though I was the only other customer waiting to be served. After five minute listening to their mothers meeting, I walked out. I won't be using their services again. The owner is very rude.

Excellent post office counter service. The post mistress here really knows her stuff and I choose to use this post office rather than my local one 100 yards away as my local one don't seem to know what to do with a lot of the services they are meant to offer.

Friendly service and handy local shop

Appalling service! Am homebound having had a back operation and work sent me my rail pass recorded delivery for before 1pm today and voila i hear something shoved through the door and when i go through to hallway see it is a 'while you were out' card. No knocking on the door and no postman outside he must have got in van and drove off. What is the point in having registered, it is not just for valuables it is for when people can't get out the house. I am told i can collect from sorting office but am not to drive at the moment. Now i can't get through on the phone either. Very annoying and not the first time RM have done this. In fact they seem to do this on every occasion when it comes to registered mail. They never knock the door!

Have collected many parcels and received prompt and efficient service (not always with a smile mind you), parcel was always there. Collection is a pain mind you coz of yellow lines on the road outside and parking wardens are rife in the area.

Quick service getting my parcels, however no parking, or no free parking nearby either.

I had a Mac PC stolen through the postal service, apparently signed by me. no answers given by PO. No parking in this area, pickup risky, you make get a parking ticket from ABC.

Says you can print prepaid labels here and was directed to royal mail to return an item i bought online. I had the code ready to scan. Guy just grunted only for amazon and carried on drinking tea 👍

The fact that there's a post office at all in town rated a point. Otherwise it's shockingly poor. There are now only 3 counters and one for foreign currency, I've rarely seen 3 counters open, usually it's two and it's not unusual for one member of staff to have to ask advice of the other so regularly you get 2 staff serving one customer. The automated tills also often don't have anyone there to assist unlike when it used to be a dedicated post office and there was always staff to assist. There have been times when the post office has had to close altogether at lunch time due to staff shortage, which is totally unacceptable. The service is slow, there's no sense of urgency from the staff and the queues are long. Today I went in to find 2 service points (one manned by a brand new member of staff), it took me 20 minutes to get served and there was never less than 14 people in the queue, when I left there were 21 (annoyed) customers waiting in the queue. This seriously needs sorting out, absolutely appalling!

Staff are rude, and don't seem to know what they are doing. Asked two colleagues the same question and got totally different answers and when I then checked online they were both wrong.

Good location... glad that the new post office works some hours on Sunday. Other this points everything is worse than the old one specially some of the staff are rude and totally doesn't want to help- when I did a check out at the self service .. some one should collect the parcel at the end .. (usual) . No body came . The lady in the end asked me to join the queue .. (!!!!!) .. so why putting self service machine.

I mean is it better this post office compared to the old one in town ? - No , but is it really bad? -no i don’t think so .. customer service its ok, got everything you need as well, still in good location. Giving 4 stars because of the self service machines which are always in some errors .. sometimes it’s annoying really...

Post office now closed at 8pm, used to be 10pm. Went in to send off a parcel and they couldn't be arsed to take 2 steps to the right and print me of a postage label. Thanks for that community spirit, really helpful 😡

Unhelpful staff.

I was made to feel like I was an inconvenience and not wanted there. How hard is it to crack a smile and say "hello?" Yes this is my nearby post office but I won't be coming back. I'd rather walk the 30 minutes to the other post office to be greeted by a pleasant member of staff! Very disappointed. From someone who has worked in retail. I wouldn't dream of treating a customer like that and expecting much custom.

Staff are rude and short change you regularly and when you correct them with what the right amount should be you're in the wrong and being 'not very nice rude' to quote. Now proceeding to shop elsewhere despite it being my local as I'm sick of being treated like dog muck in my local shop. Not the only local to have mentioned the staffs behavior.

Too busy to do the change of address on a v5 even though its a service they supposedly offer. Funny that as you weren't too busy taking the cash from the woman that works in paddy Power and handed over £6000 were you, whilst I waited 15 minutes!

Experienced a tirade of abuse here this morning. I had 4 items to post and was told I was wasting his time - isn't that what he's there for, to serve his customers? Just one person serving at the busy morning time with a steady stream of people getting their papers and milk, how is that my fault. I got there a couple of minutes before the post office side opened up and waited patiently for around ten minutes, then he begrudgingly served me and launched into a totally unprovoked verbal attack in front of other customers when he misheard me ask for a signed-for service. He must have had a bad weekend/morning, but frankly I was disgusted with the way I was spoken to and won't be returning.

What a joke. Should have believed the reviews I read but as I've used them before thought it would be OK. Walked here from work on my lunch break to find this. It's Wednesday (the hand written note says we will be closed Thurs Fri Sat, we HOPE to be open next week). I think they may be trying to deliberately get shut down.

Avoid. Closed at odd business hours when they should be open.

They're OK... When they are actually open. But they will close within their normal hours with no notice. Tried collecting a parcel this Saturday and they've just not opened at all.

Walked in yesterday after being trashed by two bank's poor customer service on the same day (one cancelled appointment 1 hour before time, second told us that time was not enough for us yet they had confirmed the appointment). Customer service here was exceptionally good, friendly agents, no need for stupid appointments, open till late. I opened account in a few minutes and walked away with debit cards. I will soon move my main account to you guys. Continue with the good service

Really pleased that Metro Bank now has a branch in Ashford. Saves me a trip to Canterbury. Staff are friendly and fast as usual and I never have to queue. Always a bonus!

not professional staff at all.keep lying to a people..My parner is their customer.we have asked them to send us our bank statement history on what they said it is not a problem at all in 3-4 days it is gonna be with u..so after 3 days eaiting we have phoned them.and a few times after that and always was an answer tomorrow,tomorrow,tomorrow. so after 9 days waiting still nothing..bank staitment history we needed to send to british embassy to one not eu country.becouse of their lyes our brother lost his shance to go to embassy and lost 200£ what he paid for appointment to apply for visa..But of course who cares..they just dont care..they are not responsible at all..

Only 1 star as I cannot give a 0 star rating. My business partner and I tried to open a limited business bank account first meeting we were told a senior business bank specialist would need to set this up, in 3 weeks we had no contact and I had to visit brand 2 more times during which I was assured someone would call me back. Still no call. We have been massively let down by Lloyds do not use.

After queuing up at the cashier, the lady said to sit down and someone will be with us to change address, after waiting 30 minutes and the bank empty , went back up to the cashier who changed my address for me anyway? All while the lady at the front was chatting away

Always accessible to the public day or night

I flew to England to stay with my boyfriend for Christmas, in the city of Ashford on 24/12/2019.  On December 28, 2019, I experienced a very sad event in Asda store (Kimberly Walk, Ashford TN240SE). In the evening after doing our shopping around 18:10 I wanted to pay for my shopping. I only had £ 50 note, given to me by bank back home in Poland. Because this banknote is not accepted at self-service checkouts, I asked a shop employee for money change. The staff member then walked off and left me waiting. Because I waited quite a long time, my partner instead paid by card and took my daughter to the car (I was shopping with my 7-year-old daughter and fiance). After yet more time, the employee finally returned and informed me in the presence of other shop customers that he would not give me either the change I'd asked for, nor my original money because according to them I was trying use counterfeit banknotes and this is a crime.  I couldn't believe it, because in an exchange office in Krakow (Poland) an employee was scanning all my banknotes and everything was fine.  I was asked to go to the kiosk where a police officer was waiting (a policeman was there for another matter already). He was very arrogant and rude. With a smile on his face and a hundred percent certainty that the money is forged, he told me that I would not get back my £ 50. The reason being given was that I would want to use the banknote in another shop. The policeman checked the money only visually although he was sure of his belief. Nothing was used to actually check the banknote correctly. I was told to simply trust the officer. No confirmation was given to me that my property had been taken away, and no one could tell me why the banknote was invalid. I felt absolutely mortified, angry and very very upset. Other customers stopped and listened to the conversations, nothing was done privately it was all very public on the shop floor. I was treated like a criminal and mocked by the policeman. All the while with Asda staff looking on. He brought me to the staff saying that he could take anything I have from me and he doesn't have to explain it because he is from the police. And nobody said anything from Asda. I did not think that such violations of law are possible in a European country. An employee then asked for my contact details. Since I no longer live permanently in Ashford, I went to get my partner and daughter so that he would give his contact details. I remind you that I came here only on vacation. He and my daughter returned to the store and heard the same nonsense as I did. The policeman still insisted that the banknote is a fake. After a long trial and repeating ourselves we were finally allowed to photograph £ 50 (although none of the Asda employees wanted to let us capture the serial number of the banknote in the picture). The Asda manager also did not intervene. He did not check the money to verify it was 'invalid'. He stood next to me and watched passively the whole situation. At this point, because my daughter had seen and heard everything and was becoming distressed, I decided to return with her to the car. My partner gave the data required and we returned home. I was humiliated, nervous and depressed by this harrowing ordeal. Being publicly dressed down, accused of a crime and being stolen from, all at the hands of your staff in your store.  Not only did your staff emotionally abuse myself and my family, they also deprived me of my last money. For all purposes sending me on my way for the rest of my holiday without money. A £50 note is a large sum to take away from anybody. As I was not arrested or charged in anyway I consider your staff as thieves, they stole my money from me that night.  The next day, staff at Asda telephoned me and asked me to come back to the store. It was December 29, 2019 around 11am. I was nervous, shaking and dreading what I might face again. It turned out that the banknote had now been properly checked and was discovered to be genuine. Something I'd insisted on and explained all along!

Medium sized store. Nightmare to get to now due to the traffic that backs up due to the expanded Ashford Designer Outlet sharing the same entrance. Soft drinks/ bottles etc are in a really silly location in the store. Only noticed them once going through the checkouts.

Asda pharmacy is laughable, pharmacist is very rude as been mentioned in several reviews, was more interested in chatting to her friend about what they got up to at the weekend and told me I would have to come back, not a chance, will certainly not be back. If you could give zero stars I bet their rating would be even lower

Staff is always nice and helpful. We have asked at the customer service for some fresh flowers for our wedding and they brought new ones out promptly. The manager even gave us a 10£ gift card which was really nice. A big thank you to the kind lady from customer service who dealt with our request.

Carefully with this bank made a withdrawal 500£ on there Atm never got the money but the book it of me account no i have to wait 10-15days to get my money back that is what i call a third world bank.

I went in several times over the past month asking for help opening up a bank account as I had just moved to the country. They were very uncompassionate and unwilling to work with me when it came to finding an acceptable proof of address.

Recently refurbished and looking modern. They have three contactless cash machines inside so you can do most of your banking through those. When you do need to talk to a human there are plenty of friendly faces to assist you.

I am pleased with the professionalism of the team in Ashford HSBC. Me and my fiance went directly to them on our first mortgage instead of paying for a mortgage advisor to do it for us and it was very smooth and quick. I am very thankful to Anthony Spry. Tanya referred Hehim to us. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. Highly-recommended.

Not enough staff.

A busy branch, very polite, but no where near enough staff to deal with the footfall.

POOR. Don't bother asking Ashford branch. Staff is changing every month. When you ask them something a bit more complicated than how to use the cash machine, they will never know what to do ! They are really useless. Poor them, I actually got pity for those people

I have nothing but complementary words for Handelsbanken and all the staff at Ashford. I have dealt with the Ashford branch for over 4 years and cannot fault the levels of service we have received for both my personal and my business accounts. It is so refreshing to speak to a member of the team who knows who you are, as opposed to just a number. To be able to access the levels of service that we have received makes our working lives so much easier and for that alone I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Terrible. No help whatsoever. Even for Ashford, a town not known for its friendliness, this bank is horrendous. Especially the manager.

No where near enough staff. can only pay in or take out cash at the kiosk, which was a 20 min wait, then to do anything else had to wait what's so far half an hour with no movement in the queue at all

It's like Marmite, I really like natwest and other times I don't like NatWest. Personally I think the old system work well, just needed a few upgrades. Lovely staff, always friendly. I would recommend banking with. This is the reason for the 3star rating.

This WAS my local branch..every visit is beyond the joke,today I was in the branch for 17 minutes just after lunch time and I only wanted to put money in.one member of staff behind counter but 4 just walking about while there were many people waiting to be served or to try use machines that were all playing up..i now hate going into this branch and WILL be changing banks as this one doesn't benefit me or help me at all..

Worst bank in the history of banking. Have to come here every other day for business. Spend on average 20 mins waiting to be seen. Do they have any staff here????

I have never left a review before on anything but I feel as though I need to in order to help others in my position. I Just moved back to England. My account had been closed and two people in this branch told me there was nothing they could do about it and sent me on my way with no bank account (which means no money, no job and no way of renting a room). I was so nervous and so I went to Bristol to visit my brother and went to the bank here. The woman sat down with me and called everyone she could to make it work and she was able to find out why my account closed and was able to re open it and order me a new card! So there WAS something they could have done! How could you have just told me there was nothing you could do? I’d like to note I’m a British citizen and had already had an account.

Tracey, the Manager at Ashford has just confirmed to me that because of Halifax policy, only one till will be open to serve the public. Even though staff are available, they would rather elderly and disabled people queue for 30 minutes or more and suffer in the queue than open up a second till. This is disgraceful and inhuman and shows poor and inflexible management.

I didn’t use the cashier counter which looked incredibly small. I assume that this accounts for the long waiting times that other local guides mentioned... I met someone to arrange a bond & they were almost on time and very helpful soo a good experience for me but limited counter service if that is what you want.

Worst bank ever tried to log on to my online banking but saying my card isn’t registered, if it wasn’t registered then I wouldn’t of got sent it. It’s in date had so many problems with the bank and with cards being fraud, don’t recommend this bank at all
