Being one of those middle aged women who just missed out on the techno age at school and whose computer savvy kids have flown the nest, I was at a loss when my laptop died.
I was forced to use the Internet on my rubbish phone (another story) which is only ever used for making and taking calls, and the odd text, to Google a computer repair shop in my area.
I was gobsmacked at how many came up, more closer to where I live, but the reviews for The Computer Shop in Lostock Hall warmed my cockles.
I visited without appointment to be met by a very smiley young man with a beard. Unfortunately I don't know his name, I didn't like to ask.
Anyhoo, he took my lappy (oh yeah) into the back and checked it out.
He made a diagnosis there and then, ordered the part and said he would call the following day.
When I collected it the following afternoon it was all fixed and only cost £30. He didn't even charge for the diagnostics but threw lots of very useful advice in too!
They also sell desktop and laptop computers along with all the leads and accessories you could need.
You can park for free in any of the side roads.
I wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend this small business and I'll certainly be back.

This really was excellent service. My PC motherboard failed and within 24 hours I am back with all original drives and software operating in a new desktop PC. Could not have been more helpful or more pleasant to deal with. Excellent value too.

I messed up my computer by removing my Administrator rights. Took the computer to The Computer Shop where I met a very friendly team and within an hour my computer had been fixed at a reasonable cost. Could not fault the service.

Called up early Saturday morning with a PC Issue which I was personally unable to solve in my computer. Asked if they'll handle my computer which I made myself, they said absolutely fine. Amazing service and communication I honestly couldn't have asked for anything better. Got what we believed to be the issue fixed and even stayed open an hour and half past closing times just so I could retrieve my computer the same day! Absolutely amazing highly recommend for any computer issues they'll even change parts of your computer for you (for a handling fee which is fairs) as said, couldn't ask for anything better.

Great service from the Computer Shop. Today, I took my Lenovo in which was not powering up and the problem was diagnosed as being the system board. This was after 3 previous compute repair stores had failed to identify the problem. Also, for the half-hour check there was no charge made!

The keyboard on my laptop stopped working and I couldn't type. I needed this fixing ASAP as I had work due in a few days. I contacted Laptop Repair Base Preston on the number provided for a free quote.
They didn't have the keyboard in stock at the time, but they ordered a new one next day using Prime. They actually only charged me £8 for the keyboard and £10 to fit it. I only ended up paying £18 for a keyboard and fitting! What an excellent service provided by Jordan who went out of his way to help me and at such a ridiculously low price!
I will be recommending him to all my family and friends. Thanks Jordan.

What a proper guy to deal with. I was running a sale event at my car dealership when my laptop screen went off and stopped working completely. I called The number and he immediately invited me to bring it so he could have a look at it for me.
A busy Saturday afternoon at work and I needed my lappy.
Jordan was fantastic, not only did he give me a very honest service with a superb quote to fix it but as we wouldn’t get new parts there and then, he GAVE me and used one and fitted it for free!
I cannot say I have very been shown this kind of service, without any notice, ever before! I will be returning to have him replace the screen with a new one and will happily pay him more than he quoted! Outstanding!

I dropped by on my way back from Manchester after my laptop displayed a blue screen error. They fixed the error within 2 hours and my laptop is back to normal now. Excellent service and was reasonably priced as well.

The charging port on my Acer laptop stopped working, so my laptop was unable to charge. I dropped by Laptop Repair Base Preston to see what they could do to fix this problem. As soon as I arrived I received immediate attention and a speedy service, they picked up the laptop, inspected it, got the part, and fitted it there and then.
I went for a bite to eat at the local Maccies while they tended to my laptop. In the space of 30 mins they fixed the problem and only charged me for the labor, I was given the part for free! Overall outstanding service and the price was extremely reasonable!
Finally, my laptop is now back to normal and charging correctly! No more holding the charger in place to charge it!

He really looks after customers and their computers, and their needs.
He's flexible, reliable and is in the shop till 6pm. Others close at 5pm.
My computer came out speedier and healthier after been fixed.

Very very impressed with Dave. I had 2 issues - a failed hard drive on my old Mac (2012) and an iPhone battery on it's last legs. Both done in a day at very reasonable cost so minimal inconvenience.
The new SSD drive on the Mac is so fast it has really boosted my productivity.
Dave is fair, knowledgable, honest - and I found him by chance as he accepts calls up to 8.30 pm.
Would recommend him 100% and I will be using him in the future.

I've never had a problem when having them repair my pc, but then I bought a refurbished Windows 7 cpu from them. The cpu casing was shoddy, to say the least. If you try to unplug something from one of the USB ports on the front, the entire front pops out of place. I won't be buying from them again.

Took my laptop to AWP for a charger socket repair twice. The first time he had it for a week with ordering parts and didn't find the time to fix it before I needed it back as I had to go away.
When I got back, I took it to him again as he assured me he had the part from last time. After a week I called him and he told me he hadn't found the time, would do it tomorrow and would call me. No call the next day, so I called him the day after and he told me the same thing. No call again. I called the day after, no answer, I left a message, no response. I called again the day after, left a message, no response.
This went on for a week. I literally had to go to his house and catch him unannounced to get it back and he hadn't even looked at it!
If you are too busy, don't waste people's time by taking on a job you can't do!
So very unprofessional.

Unhelpful staff and half of the self service machines out of action. They have ONE very slow counter assistant who idly chats to a customer, ignoring a growing queue, who then logs off after you have been waiting ten minutes, making you wait even longer as the next assistant logs on. PATHETIC.
They have ZERO customer service and do not deserve to have customers.

Now it's become a bank of cash machines, and auto-tellers - there is no earthly reason why the upstairs (with actual humans) could not be gated, and open 9-5 and the downstairs open 7 till 11 or even 24 hours, with 'Bank Card' swipe access. If online banking is 24 hours and i want to dposit cheques at 3am then that should be possible.

I came to open account. after I did all the step in the bank, they told me there are a problem in the system and ur application will be updating the next day. I didn’t hear anything the next day in fact I get the message few days letter “Thank you for applying for an HSBC account. We’re reviewing your application and will be in touch soon. Please ignore this SMS if you have chosen not to proceed.”
Two weeks later I came back and they told me ur application is still reviewing, I asked about the lady that did my application in first place and they told me she is in lunch break so I didn’t wait.
After 4 weeks from the start I came back again and I asked for the same lady that did my application and they told me she is not in today and I asked to book appointment they told me we cannot book you appointment, u have to waite (1 hr approximately) I asked them to drop my application so I can get my collage letter back and apply for other bank and they told me we can’t.
And now it’s been almost 3 months and the bank didn’t not give me an answer either opening account or not Because they have nothing to prevent them from opening an account for me

The worst bank ever. I have been told (lied to) on 2 separate occasions that the time frame for closing my help to buy ISA was 4 days. I then proceeded to ring the help line when my money had still not been transferred to be told that it takes 5 days to close the account and 5 days to send a letter (modern mailing system, good effort HSBC post office). So where did they get 4 days from? Was it made up? Was it the person who dealt with me’s favourite number? I also asked if there was a quicker way to get this, and he (the person who likes making stuff up) told me that I could ring up request a PDF version to be sent to me via email. Great, I thought. So when the person on the phone made me aware of the lying that had been done in the Preston’s HSBC branch, I asked her of what of this PDF version, would this not solve my problems? Well, turns out this was yet another distortion of the truth. So thanks HSBC, I’m homeless now until you get your act together and send me my money. Luckily its sunny.
On the positive side, the air con in that place is great, would visit again! Why don’t you just become an air con distributor, you clearly do that allot better than banking or telling the truth.

I always find the staff really helpful whenever I call. Co Op bank has excellent customer service compared to others I have used in the past. It's also great speaking to staff based in the UK when I call. Many companies in the UK use contact centres abroad and I struggle to understand their accent, I find this frustrating. Great to see Co Op providing jobs in the UK! I would recommend Co Op bank to friends and family.

I made the mistake of opening an account with them and after several.e-mails that welcomed me to their bank, I received another e-mail informing me that my newly opened account was closed! Just that without being given a reason! The hilarious thing is that after that e-mail they.kept sending me welcoming e-mails as if nothing happened! Utterly useless Staff, the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing, . Yes there quick to tell you your about the go overdrawn or going to get a fee.. try paying that bill or fee either over the phone or at the counter..You must withdraw cash at your cost to pay these bills...since the No charge for using a credit card come into effect they withdrawn the card payment function.. If they can't make even just a few pence out of you there not interested..Looks all the Biz with pics of preston in the branch but its all a front to make you feel comfy..

I've dealt with many banks in the Preston area and this is the absolute worst. Incredibly poor customer care - reducing customers to tears and then ignoring and dismissing them. Don't trust them to make a CHAPS payment on the same day or within the stated time frame, as it won't happen. We were on the verge of losing out on a house due to this branch and its inadequacies. Dreadful. Disgusting. Dire. Shame on them for treating customers in the way that they do. Immediately closed my account with them and switched to another - wouldn't risk another encounter with these staff members or branch again.

A very average Natwest, they always try to get you to use machines and the branch telephone number will not even tell you the opening hours unless you give a customer reference number. At least this Natwest is still open though (for now). UPDATE - we tried to pay a cheque in via the automatic machines (via the assistant) and the first one was not working, the next one refused the cheque and we were told "the cheque was too large".

What a rude and unhelpful women. Twice now the same employee has said something to embarrass and humiliate me. So much so i nearly told her how rude she was I was so upset.
I hate going to this bank. I was transferred from my usual bank after they closed their branch.
Every time I go, there is a long que, with one teller working . Why is there two tiny counters squashed in the corner of such a big bank. there is a large seating area with no one ever on it that could be used. I could not believe what I experienced today in the queue, waiting to pay a cheque in. I was second behind a lady waiting and we both were amazed at what we were listening to. The customer at the counter was opening a new account and the staff member asked her for so many personal details, we heard her address, postcode, telephone number, how long she had lived at her present address etc etc. The lady in front of me turned round to me in disgust and said exactly what I was thinking. With the new data protection act in force we both thought this was sooo wrong. HSBC you really need to look at this and maybe give the customer a form to complete rather than discuss personal information in earshot of other customers.

Absolutely terrible bank! HSBC it’s self is great but the 2 women who work here are terrible, speak to you like someone under their shoe, can’t count to save their lives and panic when there are 2 people in the store apparently that’s busy. I would go to Preston or Wigan hsbc banks, like they suggested as them banks probably have more competent clerks.
