'A Safe Pair of Hands'
I haven't kept a history of the work that Eugene Gardner of 1ComputerCare has carried out for me over many years, so I can't say how long I have been using his services. What I am sure of, however, is that like the rising sun, his technical expertise, courtesy and patience is the one thing you may be absolutely sure of. I don't consider myself to be an absolute dummy when it comes to IT matters but then I'm no expert either. When IT things go wrong (as they do) I'm prepared to 'have a go' myself in the secure knowledge that Eugene is around even if I screw things up! The only downside to 1ComputerCare is that he takes Sundays off and sometimes even takes holidays! Long may the Company last!

I ran him up and dropped the laptop off at 7pm and by 8pm it’s was all fixed and was cleaner and better than it was before .I will never go anywhere else for anything computer related again and would highly recommended him.

Ben is genius simple as that, my display on my laptop was out of alignment.
Ben came out and within an hour sorted my resolution of my laptop to the correct settings. He also went the extra mile and done health check on my laptop which speed it up. If you got any problems with your computer Ben is your man !

First Class Service, my email account got hacked and I did not know what to do. I contacted Ben from BL IT Solutions who came out the very same day. He managed to recover my gmail account and setup 2 step security for protection. I would recommend Ben to anyone with a computer issue !

A* computers are as good as it gets. I am back from Kenya for a couple of weeks. My machine stopped working - it didn't even get to the Dell logo screen - and I found my 1 year warranty had expired 10 days before.I was in the depths of East Sussex and spirits were in the dumps.
I searched Google and decided they were the ones to contact based on five 5* reviews. One phone call to them and I liked the questions they asked. Graham came to collect the machine a couple of hours later.
All very efficient, signed sheet to confirm collection, regular updates on progress. The fault was the laptop screen had become disconnected and this went on to cause other problems.
They found the fault, fixed it. Got the computer to recognise the battery again and reset the system so it was as good as new.
The machine was brought back the next day.
The fee was tiny. I know I was lucky that there wasn't a serious fault but if I have another problem A* will be the first company I turn to for help. Richard Rosen

This company was brilliant, I needed a new PC for home and they set me up with a genuine built computer to tend my exact needs. Services was excellent, they kept me informed every step of the way, and delivered the computer to my house and set it all up for me with my existing Internet connection to make sure everything was working. I have used the services of the team at A-Star on several occasions to repair both laptop and tower computers. They have brought an ancient and much used laptop back from the dead, saving priceless photos and files. Upgraded a tired tower system to give further use as a gaming machine. Repaired software faults on my personal laptop twice and been able to provide a fix for simple problems by phone as well as providing a pick-up service for more complex or hardware difficulties.
They always give a clear appraisal of the problems they have found and updates on the repair process in terms that a computer novice like me can understand.
On one occasion they were even able to diagnose over the phone the problem with a dead Lenovo simply by knowing it's model number as they had recently repaired several of the same devises and recognised a fault common to this make and model.
Their prices are very competitive, the turn around of repairs is quick and I would recommend them for their excellent customer service.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!
Had numerous errors on my PC due to Windows Updates to an older system causing it eventually to crash. I needed a very quick turnaround as I had a lot of work outstanding, I dropped it off at 4pm on Thursday and got it back - fully fixed - at 8am on Friday. Now THAT is service!!
Will literally not go anywhere in the future! :-)

The ratings of this outfit are historical. The most recent experience (May/June 2019) was horrible. My laptop was operational when I brought it in - and I got it back NON-OPERATIONAL. On opening it up by the shop a "diode" was broken off completely, and that was given as reason for getting back a computer which no longer worked. What the shop called a "diode" was actually a capacitor, so the guy didn't know what he was talking about. When I asked that - at least - my SSD should be taken out - that was announced impossible because it was declared a RAID type. Completely untrue (RAID relates to an array of drives, not one only). I was advised to buy a new computer - and offered a refurbished laptop - which I declined. This shop's main business interest is to sell their own inventory, rather than repair. I took my laptop somewhere else - and learned the truth about I had been deceived. Go there at you own risk - or better - somewhere else. (and record your conversations!)

Another superb PC from Diamond Computers. If you live in or near Brighton and you need a new PC or a computer repaired Diamond is the place. I chose one of the computer systems listed on their website and got them to upgrade a couple of the components. I have ended up with a brilliantly fast PC for much less than I would have paid on the internet. This is the 4th PC I have got from Diamond over the years and everyone has been excellent

Fantastic service! Couldn't recommend more. I brought in a Macbook with a broken screen and although their supplier did not have a replacement in stock, they advised they could replace it for me if I got the part from eBay (rather than them buying it, as in case of warranty it'd be easier for me to claim if it was on my account). Came back a few days later with the replacement and was told it'd be ready the next day around lunch, but got a text 5 hours later they'd already done it!

After trying numerous online tips on how to fix my PS4 and failing miserably I looked on Google and found Diamond.
I spoke with Adam who was very helpful and friendly told him over the phone the problem I was having and he asked me to bring it to the store.
The same day he phoned me to let me know what he'd done which I thought was great service.
It seems it wasn't the PS4 itself but was the controller (Bluetooth).
I've bought a wired pad and it's been working fine eliminating the issue I had before,which is cheaper than a problem with the machine.

They have a contract service which monitors all our hardware and Alison fixes things before we even know they are broken. Was so impressed with this service. My Macbook Pro stopped working after spilling a glass of red wine onto it. After being told by my local shop that it would take 2-3 weeks to fix, I phoned Technodoctor and they repaired it the next day.
My Mac was collected and returned for no extra charge. I thought it was too good to be true. I didn't need to worry, my laptop was delivered back to me the next day for the cost originally quoted and is working perfectly. Thanks Technodoctor

I visited Laptop Station with an old Laptop that just stopped working and I needed help. It is an excellent shop, bright and airy, allowing me to look at a variety of laptops available at competitive prices. They spent an absolute age trying to see if data could be accessed on mine. Unfortunately not. Money was short for me but they gave me various options to satisfy my needs. Confident with them I returned home, I don't live in Eastbourne, and decided to order with Laptop Station online. Delivery was quick and the laptop exact to my requirements and pocket. A success story for them and me.

Almost everything is in this store, what I like about it is it's big space with so much tech around. They sell loads of things, kitchen tech, gaming tech, normal life tech and much more. One of the fancy things they have are 4K TV's that can range up to 76". It's overall a very nice store, and considering there is so many things in it I've had to ask the employees, and they I must say are very helpful and kind.

Power button needed replacing on my desktop PC - told them I needed the PC for working from home and needed the repair done quickly, they said this wasn't a problem. Dropped the PC off and waited to hear from them, heard nothing so called and was told the part needed to be ordered and it would take a few days (wasn't told this during the initial conversation). Then I had a phone call asking for payment upfront which I thought was cheeky. After around 5 days with no further contact I called and was told they hadn't got around to ordering the part, I ended up buying it myself and taking it to them and demanded they fit it immediately as I had been waiting for long enough and had already paid upfront for them to remove the faulty power button and replace it. I would never use these cowboys again after this very bad experience.

Took laptop for replacement of dc jack. First time they just soldered it back but told me they replaced it. Paid £75. It failed again after 2 months they soldered it (no charge) and it failed after 2 days. They replaced it again and charged another £75+. One of the hard drives stopped working so I took it elsewhere. They had not plugged one of the drives back in correctly and several motherboard screws missing. Soldering for the jack is poor and bulky. Whilst I was there I noticed them charge an old lady £60 for factory reset on an ipad. Conning Bodgers in my opinion.

Went go the laptop doctor to replace a damaged laptop hinge. Paid £35 of a diagnostic even though we both knew what the problem was. A few weeks later got a call saying the work was complete and that they've replaced both hinges and it would cost another £90. I wasn't called after they completed the diagnostic to be told what was being replaced and how much it would cost, also the cost of £125 in total to repair a laptop hinge seems really expensive so not good value for money here.

Incompetent morons... We had someone wait in for a RM Special Delivery which had cost us in excess of £50 for the service. A delivery was made by RM not including the item we had stopped in all day for. We were then told a delivery attempt was made but refused and was marked return to sender. The contact number of the local collections office is unavailable. How is this company still operating with the inept service they offer ?

Great local Post Office with friendly and helpful staff and a handy shop. I've been using this post office for some years in preference to other ones locally, and very much in preference to the central one in town! Recommended. Update: they are adding a small cafe, which is a great idea as there is nothing else nearby.

Customer service all wrong. I was told serving the kids that were behind me in the queue were more important than serving me (sending a parcel at the counter as the Post was closed at 4pm on a Tuesday). I was told they were more important than me because he is making money out of them and not me. I guess you’re just trying to be amusing but I don’t really find it amusing when the staff never say what normal customer service staff say which is: “hi, sorry to keep you waiting” and make no effort at all to facilitate customer service. Coming from someone who has worked in customer service all my life. Furthermore, I frequently used to spend a lot of money getting bits and bobs in the shop (£20-50 a pop) as it was so close, but because of the expense prices, lack of stock of things normal people want, and constant bad customer service we stopped coming there a long time ago. We now use either One Stop/Sainsburys/Tesco’s/McColls/Lidl and Aldi (all local to us). We now only go there for the Post office, but after today, I will be going to town where I will be served properly and not be made to wait even longer and told that I am less important.
It’s not my problem that I don’t make you money out of my mere existence in your shop. I just want to be served when it is my turn which you must respect if you want people in the local area to return. Which I will no longer.

Lady at the counter claimed they were not allowed to take them and I had to exchange it in a bank (where I had been sent away for not being a customer). Turns out it's not true: checked on the bank of England homepage where they say that post offices actually may do that.

I've used this service many times and it is frustratingly slow.. It's a feeling of relief when you finally get out of the place, but there is also a lingering feeling that the public deserve better, that we have been cheated in some way. It's definitely worse than the old post office which was closed (the proper post office).

During the busiest seasons like Christmas this post office simply isn't capable of handling customer demand. They have self service machines that are frequently out of order (as they were all christmas) and often leave only one or two tills open to deal with upwards of 15 customers waiting in the queue. During off season it fares a little better of course but is nevertheless understaffed constantly.
