Been in today and bought one of their custom desktops. We have been going to this store occasionally for a year, both my wife and I have nothing but positive things to say about it and the gentlemen who work in it. Couldn't recommend higher, quality work, great customer service and very reasonably priced. You will struggle to find better.

Used these guys for a couple of year now, always got the job done so far no matter what I bring them. Yesterday I had a completely dead laptop with full charge - it looked a goner. He opened the back disconnected the battery or something then booted it back up. Fixed. No charge. 2 minutes.

Best service ever! I took my laptop that I thought I had to replace and he fixed it in minutes. Extremely friendly and fast service. He shows that he really cares about the computers and he treats the customers well. If you need your computer fixed, don't go anywhere else.

Couldn't have been more helpful. Very friendly gentleman, who took his time to explain about some of the issues computers have and the best plans of action for keeping them running smoothly. Took my very slow running PC, cleared it out and now a few months on it is still running perfectly. Will always come back here if I need my computers sorting or if it needs a service.

Amazing service! It took them under 24 hours to diagnose and fix the problem with my laptop. In addition, they talked me through all of the problems and all of the solutions on my computer. The staff were very lovely, and they seemed genuinely committed to getting me the best possible fix for my computer. Very satisfied. My laptop's display was damaged, I went to them to ask if it was worth to repair it or to buy a new laptop. Not only they had a second hand/ used display from a same laptop but they replaced it the same day. Thankfully, the cost was affordable and also they provided me with six months guarantee for the used display. In a case that I will have again any problem with my devises I will definitely go to them.

Alan did a fantastic job recovering my data, installing a new hard disk and setting my machine up again when my laptop hard disk decided to blow up at the worst possible time. Service was fantastic and Alan moved heaven and earth to get the machine back to me in time for me to catch a flight. It's not often you get service that comes even close to this these days. I will be recommending PC Doctor to everyone from now on.

I arrived in Edinburgh last night for a writing retreat and the keyboard on my computer stopped working. I did a quick search and was able to rush over to Edinburgh computer repairs. THEY SAVED MY LIFE! Fantastic experience, they were so nice and helpful and they were able to fix my problem in just a few short minutes. Also, I must note - they were the only shop still open after six. Which again saved my life. I was able to get everything sorted before the retreat and I slept well knowing that my computer was all fixed up! Thank you so much again.

Great service very friendly and helpful work carried out eccelent first class and not over priced

I am not a person who writes bad reviews at all, but my experience at Edinburgh computer repair was not a good one. Graeme is a nice guy, I can't fault him for that. He's fixed a bunch of minor stuff for me in the past, so when it was time to upgrade my processor, he was the first person I thought of. I thought I would get a few upgrades done at the same time, processor, motherboard, and additional hard drive space. I paid him £450 up front, and he told me it would take 8-10 days. Processor was £220, motherboard £100, new hard drive was £50, his time was £75. 10 days rolled around and I called up. He said he was installing water cooling in the pc, but had ordered the wrong part. Ok, didn't ask for that, but whatever. I waited some more. No messages from Graeme, no updates. The best part of a whole month, 21 days later I get a message saying it's finally finished, he wasn't able to install water cooling after all. I get it home and I see that he hasn't even connected my hard drive, so the PC doesn't work. Day 22 I take it all the way back and he does more work on it. When I get it home and boot it up I see that he has installed a bunch of pirated software on my pc, it has two viruses, has lost the pins for the back of the case, and hasn't installed basic BIOS sound drivers for my hard drive, so, no sound. New processor is there with a new motherboard, but he never did put a new hard drive in. Great, I'm down £50. Fine, I'll live with it. I thought I would just quietly take my business elsewhere and not give his shop bad press. Today, about a month later, my monitor blacks out. I look inside. He hasn't screwed my graphics card back in, it's just hanging loose. That's a £300 piece of equipment hanging by it's fragile connectors. That's it, a bad review for you buddy. Sorry man, I wish you well, but in future I will be going for repairs somewhere else. *Edit* The problems continue. 6 months after my upgrade at Edinburgh Computer Repair I find that Graham has installed a counterfeit Windows 10 Professional over my genuine Windows 10 home. The temporary license he ripped from the internet apparently expired a week ago, and now I am stuck with limited functionality and a stupid "Activate Windows" watermark plastered on my screen. Now I'm having to wait on hold with Microsoft support for hours trying to dig up my original purchase information from 2010. Graham could have avoided this with one phone call to me to ask for my digital license code. Shambles, utter shambles. This could potentially cost me £150. Unless you literally just need him to plug a power cable in, avoid. Seriously, go to the repair shop Hex in Tolcross instead.

Great work by John, City PC Repairs. He managed to turn my unusable 10 year old very slow Dell desktop into something that I can work with again. He replaced the original Hard Drive with a latest Solid State Drive making my desktop extremely fast. He completed the refurbishment in no time and got my computer back to me with no loss of personal data. Great value too. I would thoroughly recommend City PC Repairs if you are looking for a quick and reliable computer repair.

I was really happy with the service provided with City PC repairs and I would recommend them. Very helpful and approachable staff. I had a problem with my tablet, so they can fix all sorts of computers. Great to have a place like this so local too.

Be careful, very inflexible, unfriendly and not solutions orientated. I got a replacement screen from John after my old screen was damaged in an accident. He wanted a down payment right away before ordering the new piece which already seemed odd. Anyway, after it had functioned normally for 8 months, it stopped working for no apparent reason. I used it the previous night, however, on the next morning it did not turn on anymore. I run a hardware check and everything was fine except the screen not working. Once I contacted John about it, he was very inflexible. He claimed that I could have dropped the laptop, which was obviously was not the case since there were no new external damages or even marks in this case on the laptop. Yet he claimed that it was my fault and he could not do anything unless he sees the laptop. Upon consulting other certified repair shops, we checked all connection cables and the other hardware pieces, which were all fine. The experts suggested that the most likely reason for this was that the piece is a counterfeiting piece and/or poorly fitted. John denied this and still resisted to assist with the issue. Finally, I even interrupted my holiday to see him about it, but he was still unwilling to help. He claimed that it had to be sent away since he could not assess the screen himself (which was strange given that he portrays himself as an expert), and that there was a high risk that the damage is likely to have arisen from parts of the laptop, even though the hardware test did not suggest any other hardware damages, and the other experts could not find any other hardware faults. The excuse seemed too convenient for him. When I had asked for a refund, he denied it, and still insisted that it had to be sent away first, even though it was very evident that the screen had stopped working. I was very disappointed with the service as the business seemed legitimate, but he does not seem to care about customer satisfaction and this case is a testament of this attitude.

Highly recommended. Very Knowledgeable, very competitive rates. I've used them a couple of times for some in depth laptop repairs. They have been excellent. They offer an honest service and they were very flexible and helpful as the diagnosis and repairs proceeded.

Very responsive - including out of hours - and very prompt service. Saved my life when I lost a hard drive full of images! Would definitely use again (although hopefully won't have to now that I've learned my lesson). Highly recommended.

Went in to enquire about laptop repair. Half heartedly told repair would cost the same as a brand new laptop (suggesting one of their new models now in). Quoted approx. £200 for repair. Lucky I managed to get laptop repaired for half the price down the road at AIT Solutions

I can not recommend User 2 Computers highly enough. I went in to try and get a computer to play old windows 95, 98 and XP games. The staff were professional and worked hard to get me the computer I desired which I got for a great price with great speed, graphics ,sound and storage I can not recommend highly enough one fully satisfied customer

Very impressed with the service here, the guys were really helpful in fixing and upgrading an old and dying laptop... They talked me through the various options and were upfront about pricing. I received regular phone updates from them during the process and once my laptop was ready for collection.They even removed an old sticky label mark from the top of my machine, as a bonus! Very happy with the service here. When I took my MacBook in, I was informed of all the possibilities of what could be wrong with it and given price estimates. They said I would probably hear from them two days later, but later that afternoon I got a call that my computer was fixed and ready to pick up.

I've used SimplyFixIt a couple of times now to repair an older Macbook Pro. Both times they've found the problem and fixed the machine quickly. Very competent staff and professional service. Definitely recommend for Mac repairs.

The service and staff were great. They gave me regular updates on the process and when they were ultimately not able to resolve my issue, there was no charge. I noticed a missing cable after receiving my computer and upon notification of this, they gave me a new one with no fuss.
