I have used several different post offices in Cambridge and together with the main one on Regent street, this one has always had consistently good service. The staff is friendly, relaxed, and happy to help with as many letters or parcels as you have. They have good opening times as well. I can definitely recommend this post office.

Following the negative reviews regarding opening times I rang th Post Office to check today's closing time as I didn't want to cycle all the way to find it closed. The man told me he might close at 2pm or it might be 12, he doesn't have to give explanation to anyone. Well, good luck, but I won't step in that post office.

A great little local post office run by a friendly couple ,also sells the best selection of loose teas and coffees.

This post office advertises that it is opened on a Sunday, I arrived there at 20 minutes before closing time. The sign said the door was open but it was in fact locked. No one answered despite my knocking and waiting. I stood outside and phoned until 2PM and the phone rang without an answer until the call ended The advert is clearly intentionally misleading.

Today it was closed (hand written note in the window, no extra explanation).

Bad service. I asked for five stamps for postcards to a EU country and returned the day after to send two of the postcards; I had already sent the other three the previous evening. The same lady that sold me the stamps then weighted the postcards and told me they were overweight, which means the three other postcards already sent will be returned, failing to arrive by Christmas. A good post office assistant should have warned me that the stamp prices are so sensitive to weight, even for postcards. She didn't even try to apologise, claiming that I had several postcards in each envelope, something that wasn't true. Certainly not recommended, will use the central post office next time, as I often do.

Friendly staff and good opening hours. However, the man who helped me tried to charge me the costs of a small parcel when in fact, the item was easily thin enough to be a large envelope. The price difference is significant, so I would recommend to insist on them using their letterbox cutout shape to see whether your items are in fact a (large) letter. In response to the shop owner's reply: No, you wanted to charge me for a small parcel when the item was clearly thin enough to go through the letterbox. The employee did NOT use the cutout shape himself to first see if it could be sent as a large letter, instead I had to insist on him trying the cutout after he gave me a price for a small parcel when I knew it was a large letter. Your staff tried to overcharge me. Maybe you need to instruct your staff better?

The few times I've picked up packages here, the service has been competent and friendly, but I find this place rather useless for most of my postal needs. It opens after I have to be at work and closes before I can get back here, so except on Saturdays, this place might as well not exist.

Happy to see friendly new owner here today, a real breath of fresh air! I used to avoid using the PO here as I always felt as though I was imposing - I think it's going to change a lot under new management. There are plans to restock the shop and sell Co-op products, which would be really handy. Do go back if you've been put off in the past!

This is now under new management and they are lovely! So helpful and really gave the impression that they want to be a part of the community rather than just another quick shop. Just generally really friendly and welcoming.

Always awful service. Used to have the rudest man on the tills but at least he was good at his job. Went in today and they had two ladies at the post office till. One was obviously supposed to be training the other but was not helping her at all. She kept stopping to eat her food! She assumed the lady in training was able to do the transaction and left her to serve other people. Took twice as long to complete my transaction then. Felt sorry for the new girl. How is she supposed to learn if she isn’t being helped. The shop is always a mess!

Should give zero star. Asking for track24, but only give a special delivery 1pm. The letter's weigh is only 18g, but they charged 500g weigh price and didn't give refund.

I dont understand the negative reviews , I had a parcel to send ( also in answer to the gentleman who wanted tracked24, you cant buy tracked24 or 48 from the post office only online it tells you this on royal mail website) I needed to send special delivery and it would have cost £26 , she told me if I could cut the weight a little which she gave me scissors and tape to cut down box and repack saving me £15 , over and abovehelpful ,couldnt have had better service

Wish I could give zero stars. Tried to post a letter for a job (which has a strict deadline) so I had it tracked and signed for. Tracked the letter and it turns out that the letter hasn't left the post office! I posted this last week! Will not be using this post office again and will use the main post office in the city centre.

Perhaps people are grumpy if you expect them to be like that! I had excellent service from the woman behind the counter - who was incredibly patient and helpful as I repacked five boxes destined for Australia! She made me feel much calmer as I realised what needed to be done, and she kept telling me not to worry and that there was no rush. She provided scissors, a pen and lots of moral support. I was really grateful for all of the above!

Had excellent service from a woman named Leanne last week. She was very helpful and kind in processing my documents. Other times that I have gone, it is busy but there is always someone helping to foster the queue and expedite people getting in and out.

Horrendous service from a woman named Karen today who did not bother to help me with an issue with a post office text code even though it stated at the bottom the cashier was to call a number if any problems.. this didn't happen. She called me obnoxious after I stated I was in a rush and just to leave it. She clicked back out of the text I had shown her and I asked please to be aware of my personal texts and not click back to which she rudely replied "why would I want to look at your texts" and pulled a face at me. I left. called the post office who assisted me when Karen couldn't be bothered. When I Went back in I could hear Karen discussing this loudly and laughing behind the desk with a colleague. I went over and asked to be careful about what she was saying and be more respectful. She then stated she was going to help me but this was never offered.

I've been here multiple times for IDs as well as for sending packages, and the staff is kind and helpful. It is small for the city centre, so the wait can be long in busy times, but you can use the automated machines for simple tasks and the staff is available for questions.

It's very good place for you to go and post thing but sometime it gets busy and you can wait a bit

Unfortunately, since the young guy with the glasses left, I am always extremely undecided whether to waltz into this place or not. The older lady most frequently behind the till has to learn things on the go or be told by customers they had it done there before, regularly appears frustrated with said customers for requesting little-used but otherwise advertised services (signature move is the slit-eyed nose-turning), is prone to inexplicable bursts of shouting to tell people off in front of others and is reduced to a ball of anxiety when a few people walk in at the same time. As I am reasonable enough (I think), I always try to be accommodating with the overworked employees, joke with them about our day and otherwise try to be as helpful as possible, but I have had to stand in line while a full-blown word-fight is taking place up front at the till. This is far from ideal when in a hurry or in a worked-up mood yourself. You shouldn't have to tread lightly or otherwise downright pick a fight to get a simple service done after a long and arduous day at work. This should be Routine 101, not The Bumpy Road to Parcel Send-Off. This kind of behavior is both cringey and contagious, and I have been known to peek through the door just to see who is on the rota and then walk out again to head for a more service-oriented place further off where I know I will get the job done without much fuss or emotional upheaval. You see, some days you just don't have the fight in you - for getting a couple of parcels posted for Pete's sake. Also, if you go there at 7:30 you might be told post office is not open yet (at which time you have to head to work and can't wait for it to "officially" open), even though this should be open at 7:00 as per google maps, and furthermore, if you go at 17:30 you'll almost certainly be told it's closed even though it closes at 18:00 as per the same google maps. Usually, same lady doing the shouting in excessively anxious terms and cocky, patronizing hand-signs, saying things like "I am not getting paid after 6 p.m.". Well, that's why people come before 18:00. I am pretty sure that's how it works. Citing 18:00 as your closing time means serving anyone who pops in by 17:59. It doesn't mean throwing people out at 17:15-17:30 so you can be in your car leaving the place by 18:00 on the dot. Just update your times on here or train your employees to stick to what you are suggesting these are, this current state of affairs where we don't know what kind of service we'll get (or if we will get it at all) at the busiest hours before or after work is really getting exhausting. Ridiculous situation given the high standard set by former employees. We seem to be at the mercy of moodiness and circumstance here.

I hate leaving bad reviews but honestly I'll be rerouting my post to the central office from now on. The service is slow and poor. The older woman who works behind the post til will be starting her closing procedures before the post office is closed and they need to update their hours on Google as they close at 5:30, not 6pm as advertised. Counting cash, bitty paperwork or a chat with the postman all come before even acknowledging that you are waiting patiently. The declarations that 'I'm only paid until 6', whilst I understand the sentiment, reflects exceptionally poor management. If you close your services at 6 then someone should be there until 6:30 so you don't start your closing regime until your doors are locked. Just avoid it if you possibly can.

Three people behind the counter, only one person doing anything. Very unhelpful staff. I had to return some items during my lunch break and had to abandon sending them otherwise i'd be late returning from lunch. I'll go to another post office. Avoid.

Post counter Closed at 17:25, staff were rude. Would never go there if not because its location. Doubt the accuracy of their scale.

The staff are incompetent and rude to cover their insecurity at being asked questions they cannot answer. One person posting a letter to Swaziland was asked whether that was in Europe!! Not a clue about anything postal related. My advice, use another store.

Barclays maybe an elite business establishment but its not only a bank with money but a heart too. Their systems and staff members are so awesome in terms of service and assistance. Hats off to you Barclays! Keep it up!

My husband couldn't go to our local Batclays so used the Addenbrroks Barclays Bank on the day he had an appointment. We found the staff at this branch very helpful and professional. Thanks Barclays @ Addenbrooks.

stay away from this branch & certainly cannot comment on other branches as I have no experience. Swift communication from bank until I gave them a score/rating for service & then silence! No answers to emails & online customer service is taking more than 3 days to respond to something very simple.

Awful, went all the way to the city centre and paid to park, taking 2 hours out our day to hear they no longer could open same day business bank accounts - despite it clearly stating so on the website. Giant waste of time! Front of house man needs some training in customer service, barely apologetic and said every other bank would take weeks to open. Glad we walked up to a much more helpful person in HSBC a few doors away!

Always a pleasant service, great opening hours, slick app, they do banking well. No wonder the establishment doesn't like them and is so eager with negative press. This is how banking should be, modern and efficient.

I came over today at around 6pm to open a bank account , but the the lady in this bank was useless, not helpful even though I had all the necessary documents which is the one they e advised me to bring I had a Passport , recent bank statements , prove of address etc Very disappointed , I feel NOT welcomed , maybe because of my background? Miguel in Metrobank Cambridge has provided us (me and my husband) a very excellent service.In my two years in UK I have never been treated this great! He deserves a promotion and he should be providing training to his colleagues, (if Metrobank cannot clone him or multiply him) as he himself is the perfect customer service provider. He was way beyond my expectation.

Dreadful branch, no apology for an extremely long wait in the queue, which was originally out the door! I am so glad i don't actually bank with Lloyds and was just paying some money in to a friends account. You will lose customers very quickly with this kind of customer service. If you close branches, at least have all the counters open in the remaining. I am not happy that I was forced to give one star just to get my review on

This is the worst branch in Cambridge. Service is terrible and the staff are rude.

You are very much disturbing them if you go in and want to be a customer. Use another branch or another Bank.

Horrible customer service. Tellers and what I imagine is the manager very unhelpful. Brought a stamped bank statement as a proof of address in addition to two other letters with an address (states on the NatWest website that a bank statement is an acceptable document), the lady demanded a printed pdf statement from online banking (stamped statement from the bank is more credible and perfectly acceptable)

I went into this branch 3 times to arrange some matters in a period of 4 months. Once wanted to ask for some information and at the same time to set up a standing order and a direct debit. The direct debit never went through, they lost it completely. The standing order did not appear the system for 2 weeks. At an other time I wanted to make my account a joint account. We filled the 3 page detailed form and provided the necessary documents. It was told it will start to be arranged in days and appear in the systems soon, we will be notified. After 10 days I got inpatient and asked about the status in the branch. They remembered the paperwork processed but since it was a Saturday and the person able to trace it was away they promised a callback Monday or Tuesday. I got a call Thursday (more than 3 weeks after start) that my papers were misplaced but they found it and starting to make the joint account, it will take days. I told to forget about it, we had to solve the situation in an alternative way. So, they are unreliable, slow, I mean slooooow, I cannot emphasize enough how slow they are. They loose things and they misinform. The good thing is that they are kind and I had no loss because of their inadequacy. Yet. I am thinking to move to a different bank.

The ATM inside only dispenses £5 notes and limits you to £200 at a time. The ATM outside rejected my card. Not a very functional BANK

Please do not use this brand if you have time. People working at this branch are not happy and they have ethnic stereotypes to people. The do not try to listing customer problem in their second senteses "unfortunately, it is our policy etc." They behave like a robot and it is not acceptable!

Great bank decent staff

I wish I could give Lloyd's bank zero stars. The most unhelpful and unfriendly bank I've ever had the displeasure of trying to interact with. Avoid if at all possible, there are plenty of other English banks who will work much harder for your custom.

So, so rude! Not only were they condescending and patronising the entire visit but I was given completely false information. Unsure if it was because it was the end of the day and they couldn't be bothered to work or if they've just been trained badly but was not at all impressed. Do not trust this bank. Impressive really how bad the customer service was. Honestly don't trust the Cambridge branch with my money and will never be going back there again.

What a farce, this bank needs to modernize and allow people to apply for an account online rather than wasting 1 hour of my time just to then reject my account application for no reason whatsoever. Don't call the number they give you. You get charged to call it as it is a corporate number!

The wort bank ever

This branch always seems busy. Maybe that is because it is their only branch in Cambridge? Or maybe is is because they are so inefficient they are constantly trying to correct problems? Either way I have stopped using the Halifax but retain an account with a nominal amount "just in case". Certainly wouldn't recommend.

Majority of the staff are unhelpful and rude. Used to be a good branch with good people and this used to apply to the bank in general. Everything has to be done online or over the phone these days so they can afford to hire useless people instore.

Halifax really do offer the best service. Having experienced several other branches in Cam (HSBC, Nationwide, Barclays etc.) Halifax customers are comparatively lucky!

Spent several months going back and forth with this branch and the Halifax online team trying to make my online saver a joint account. On one visit, one of the managers told me he'd take care of the situation personally. When I returned a few weeks later, he was, apparently, busy on another call. I've still not heard anything back from him. I'm STILL trying to get this resolved. Halifax online team has decided I have been inconvenienced to the tune of £40.

If Barclays bank does not want people of colour coming into their bank, they should put a sign at the door, so that some will not go through what l went through today. Worst experience in a bank ever. Except the office staff who were very welcoming, both young advisers have been very unpleasant and pretentious assuming that I was coming to open a student bank account (meaning young people are not welcome in Barclays bank ?) which btw was not the case... To make it short, Lloyds bank is 2 minutes away in the same street, so don't waist your time as apparently this bank doesn't need your money...

Went there for loan advice. Sat there for 30 minutes , staff members no bother to serwe me, they were to busy chatting and laugh. Avoid! St Andrews Street branch will look after you

Staff are wonderful but the 2 service checkouts that are actually staffed is nowhere near enough. Waited 45 minutes to drop off some banking. Not good enough.

Staff are slow, most don't appear to know what they are doing, every day there is a wait for business banking of at least 45 minutes and there are always four or five members of staff wondering around not really doing anything. Sometimes only one member of staff actually serving on the desk with queues of 10 or so people. Poorly organised and a real pain when I have to go there.

customer service: Hi, I am one of the customer with the worst experience at Barclays. I spent a month to create a student bank account which I haven't got yet. I have already been in Barclays for 5 times, but seems like Barclays doesn't want to have me as a customer. Every time I go there they ask me for some different paperwork, and when I get the papers and go back, they tell me it is not necessary. WTF??

Moved recently to the UK. Walked into the bank with all the required paperwork (e.g. proof of address and employment). Had to wait a while for someone that knew how to open an account. However, they told me I had to come back with a utility bill, which I can't provide since my accommodation is provided and payed for through my employer. They made it clear they don't want customers that can't produce utility bills, no matter what. This is a large inflexible organization that is very unlikely to accommodate your particular needs unless it fits their general framework, which is a huge red flag. I walked out of there and into a bank across the street that had no issues with my paperwork. I suggest you do the same.

Pleasant building, although an odd use of space. Needed to see a teller and they are tucked away at the far end of the building. Staff were pleasant and helpful, sorting out all my problems pretty quickly. It was a very quiet day. Seems a little strange to have so many people welcoming customers and few actually behind counters helping people.
