I cracked my phone screen and was worried about what I read online , such that I contacted Home PC about a replacement. They were extremely prompt in replying to my email. They ordered the replacement screen and emailed me when it arrived. When I went in, they reassured me that the screen was ok, even though had a crack, and that I didn't need to replace it. They said they could return the replacement screen that they had ordered.
I was very impressed with their honesty and general efficiency. They could have easily just replaced the screen and taken my money , but instead , they were completely honest and put themselves out by having to return the replacement screen they had ordered. I will, definitely , use them again, if any other phone issues or indeed any pc problems . Thanks

I have opened an iPhone 6S up after the repairs in this shop for my friend, as the replaced battery and screen stopped functioning properly.
The battery is not up to quality standards, besides it seems as if it's GLUED IN instead of mounted in with pull tabs (Which came even with that battery included!) besides the screen seems like a cheap replacement instead of an OEM Retina LCD or at least an approved Retina replacement.
On top of that, two screws were missing and she paid 100 GBP for that repair.
I am tremendously agitated by the way this phone has been handled.

i used to shop here for PC parts all the time, and until now was happy with their services, but recently my mother took her PC for a repair to the Carlisle branch, where she received a replacement hard drive, she was charged £150, i thought this seemed expensive, so after sourcing the exact model of hardware online, i found it to be worth roughly £25-£30, now transferring the data over and swapping the hard drives out is a 10-20 minute job max, i know this because i've done in my own computers, so they charged £120! for labour? I'd love them to try and justify that. I just wish she'd have came to me first, could have saved her a whole lot of money. Personally I feel like they took advantage of my not so tech savvy mother, sorry to say i will no longer be recommending their services anymore.

Just to say that on Monday Mark in Penrith was brilliant in helping me with Win10 problems on a new computer. He was really friendly, professional and interested in helping to sort out my problem.

Got visitors from abroad and took them to Stormfront to buy an Apple TV and other gadgets. We asked if they would give us a Tax Return Form and they said they would charge a £25 "admin fee" for that (?!). Friends and family have been buying all sorts of things in Carlisle for years and they've never been "charged" for a Tax Refund Form. Very, very disappointing.

My mum and I were served by a gentleman called Neil and he was absolutely amazing with serving us, we were purchasing a kindle that wasn't in stock or online and Neil was completely determined to find us one and he did find one in another store, after checking everything over for us he ordered it and reassured us that his men would collect it.
He treated us wonderfully and was very helpful I would highly recommend him to anybody who needed help within the store.

Good place for electrical goods... however it's hit or miss with staff. On my first visit I was approached by 2 friendly staff. On my 2nd visit I wasn't approached at all and had to find the product myself. Which was easy with the stores easily seen floor layout. 5 stars would have been given but staff chatting with each other and lack of customer focus gives -2 stars

Went to look and buy a smart TV. We asked a young man called Phil for some help. Wow was he helpful he was excellent. I explained that the TV we had now had the facility for my husband to be able to listen on headphones while I still could hear the TV. Phil went through everything with us explaining that smart TVs were different now. Anyway we bought a 43inch TV and a Sound bar , he then explained about your brilliant service of you fixing up everything for us and we took that option. Just waiting for Thursday when it arrives.
I would hope that Phil is told how grateful we are to him and what a change to go into a shop where the staff know their product's well done Curry's and Phil

What you'd expect from this chain, good range of items, but not all in store, some can only be ordered and delivered to home only (specific time at an additional cost). 1 member of staff was still trying to convince me about the high capacity HDMI cables (at a bargain price of £45) despite there being high profile news stories about the limit benefits of such cables and ridiculous cost of purchasing them. Lucky the hard sale of guarantee's has not been too bad on recent purchases.

Not happy with service in Carlisle store today! We were in last week with iPhone 6 and was told that they had run an update and that would hopefully resolve the issue not! Went back in yesterday and they tested the phone yet again to find it was faulty. So today we went back to purchase new phone or to get a refund for iphone6 .faulty as it was less than a year since it was purchased with original receipt to he told that we weren't entitled to full refund as it was over 6months since original purchase date. This was never explained at the time of purchase .

Visited shop to trade a phone in. They tested it and said there was screen burn. Price dropped from 220 to 180. Also the phone was immaculate and not a mark on it. Came to see how they got on which is when they said about the screen burn which is bull because I sent it to Samsung telling them and they tested it and it's fine. Not to mention after taking it away after I refused the reduced offer I noticed there was scratches on the screen. Just be weary of this as I always use case and protector yet they still managed to scratch the screen. Shame..... wont be using them again.

Went to see what they'd give me for phone to be told after looking it would be £69. Even after noticing a small crack top right of screen. After wondering round town trying to kill an hour, went back to be served by another guy. He brought my phone back saying while we had it we noticed a crack on top of it so it will only be £22. If I could give a -5 I would the expierence at there was horrible they staff was very ignorant and Ignored every thing I said. I went and ordered a laptop it broke WHEN I BOUGHT IT It had malware and the guy said "You must of done it" When I opened it and thats what happened. Then I asked a old guy "Can you fix it?" He said it will cost 60 pounds I was like what?? I didn't do it . I wish this goes to say do not go to Currys PC world. If you want to get SCAMED then go there. If not go to ARGOS.
ARGOS is the best store they instantly help you if any trouble but Currys PC and Knowhow are ignorant and ignored all customer complaints their just trying to get money out of you. GO TO ARGOS GO TO ARGOS. I was so happy with the purchase at ARGOS no problems what so ever I have now seen that Argos is a great store and currys is just a scamming place. Any Currys Staff quit your jobs because if you want to get complaints everywhere then Stay if not Leave. Comet to be honest was the best. Comet always help. Comet is the best customer services. I had a broken Computer It was my fault that I broke it and what happened? I was going to pay to fix it and the COMET staff knew that I had tampered with the item but they still exchanged it and gave me a faster better and more expensive computer for it. Best expierience at COMET.

I live overseas but have a Lloyd’s account which has been made dormant. I am over here on holiday and tried to fix this. Spent hours on the phone to London and jersey and various things other Lloyd’s international account offices. No one could help.
The next went to the Lloyd’s on lowther Street in Carlisle. There was a wonderful lady, Susan Henderson, who spent ages with me trying to sort things out. I am going to tell the branch they are lucky to have her working there!

Poor service had money sent from Malta and was told by the bank I have to provide details of what the payment was for. Provided this then turned away again to be told need proof of entitlement to funds. I went back with invoice as well as email conversations and contact details of the sender. Again turned away. Not allowed my funds for some reason until February. Absolutely disgusted it lloyds. Do not send or recieve money from or to over seas as you will have big problems.

Probably the worst bank i have to use since its been 'updated'. 3 very slow machines doing the work of actual people & people with iPads watching the machines work very slowly!! Even in busy times an actual human cannot help process normal day to day banking any quicker. You only get the help of a person if you're business banking or cannot use the VERY SLOW machines. Its so bad im looking into changing my bank to a more person friendly bank. In the mean time ill be using Barclay's on Montgomery way & would advise anyone else to do the same. People actually work there rather than just stand with an iPad & oversee your button pushing!!

Had an appointment with an adviser which I was unable to make. As she gave me her card, I tried to phone and advise her that I couldn't make the appointment. Number on card takes you through to an automated system at a central location somewhere. Tried for 20 minutes then gave up.Don't know why she gave me a card in the first place. Totally useless

Have sat waiting to be put through to a human for over three quarters of an hour, sick of hearing canned music and being told I will be answered shortly..I am in a prioritised queue.. etc. Gave up and phoned another number, eventually spoke to a human who said she would put me through to the relevant department...was put back through to the original number... a whole hour wasted and still not spoken to the right person!! If there is no decent PC repair shop in your area, send you storage device to data recovery lab from the nearest post office. You can pay for recovery services or software registration at any bank.
Stop using the device where you used to keep the deleted data.
Work of the operating system, installation of programs, and even the ordinary act of connecting a disk, USB drive or smartphone to the computer will create new files that might overwrite the deleted data - and thus make the recovery process impossible. The best solution would be to shut down the computer of power off your phone and outline an action plan. If turning off the device is impossible, try to use it as little as possible.
Make up a list of devices where the necessary files have been saved.
Try to remember the chain of events from creating the files to deleting them. You may have received them by email, downloaded from the Internet, or you may have created them on another PC and then brought them home on a USB drive. If the files in question are personal photos or videos, they can still be available on the memory card of your camera or smartphone. If you received the information from someone else - ask them for help. The sooner you do it the more chances you have to recover what is lost.
Use the list of devices to check them for the missing files, their backup copies or, at least, the chance to recover the deleted data from such devices.
