After being let down by another post office advertising Sunday opening hours when in fact it wasn't true, this little gem provided everything I needed and services were indeed running on Sunday too. Very friendly and helpful staff as well.

The staff in this post office look at for my mum. The staff show her compassion and kindness. Their positive attitude really makes her feel respected and valued. This helps me because I don't live near her but feel reassured to know there are such special people in her community paying her thoughtful attention. My partner and I use this post-office for our business. We use it probably 5 days a week, and have always experienced incredibly friendly and thoughtful service. We actively use this one instead of the one on cotham hill because the staff in cotham hill are very rude and difficult. Staff here are very welcoming and lovely

I have been a customer of this Post Office for several years, sending parcels at least 3 times a week and have always found the staff to be extremely helpful and polite. I have decided to write this upon reading some of the other reviews that have been posted. I myself have been present on more than one occasion whilst the Post Office staff have had abuse and insults thrown at them for no apparent reason and I found that the staff have always dealt with these irate customers in a respectful manor. I have also witnessed the staff go beyond their duties to help customers so I feel some of the reviews are unjust...........PERHAPS THOSE CUSTOMERS WERE HAVING A BAD DAY IN GENERAL!!!!! I have never once had to complain about anything and I will certainly be a customer of Bedminster Parade Post Office for several years to come.

I have never experienced such fowl customer services before. This post office has to be the worst in Bristol. Firstly the small short Asian lady behind the post office counter is so rude, she thinks she can speak to people what ever way she wants. She needs to carry out a customer services experience course to understand how you should deal with different types of customer. She thinks she can talk down to people. What happened to me is that I sent a letter 1st class recored delivery to my sister hoping that she will receive is no later then 2 days, but later reviled that my sister recieved it a week later, now I know what the asian counter staff meant when they said "do you think your letter will get there on time" now I understand what he meant by that. I still cant believe I have to give 1 star. I'm going to get to the Asian guy that is behind the till in the shop, well this guy dont understand nothing, this guy has a chip on his shoulder, he needs to calm down if he wants to trade in bedminister. The way he talks to people it comes across so rude and threatening also never willing to help. I have taken time to write this review as I want people to see what this post office is like, all the other good review have to be fake as I have seen couple of them working in the shop. Also I have gone to head office with my complaint as I feel that they do not do justice representing the postoffice franchise.

Wow, this is the best post office in the world. I am in here every day posting my items and have never experienced such warm customer service on a daily basis. Lovely staff who are always keen to help you in anyway they can, unrivalled drinks selection and great scratch cards. I am proud to call the staff at Bedminster Post Office my friends.

The new post office in WHS is an absolute nightmare. Only one counter open (or two maximum if you are lucky) and a manager who is "supervising". One poor guy running like a headless chicken looking after 8 self-service systems..Long queues most of the time. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS SERVICE.

I don't understand the recent bad comments. There are 6 counters, and half of them were opened when I was there this afternoon. The staff was really nice and helpful.

What a mess! The worst customer service I have had in years! Only one counter open and self service that always needs assisstance. Staff were standoffish and acted like they cant really be bothered. The manager asked me if i would want to come back in the morning! I know it was 15 min to closing time but i never exepected they would be so lazy as to turn people away. Wouldn't uses again if it were the only post office between here and London!

Passive aggressive lady at the counter misquoted price and then blamed me for not 'telling her' where the parcel was going. I thought the address written on the parcel in block letters would be telling enough, apparently not. Absurd. Can do much better with customer service.

I have recently moved to the area and have started to use this post office in preference to one that I used to use (which I do when I am in the area) There are only two counters and do expect a queue at busy times and you do need to know what you require this does help speed things up at the counter To avoid too many queues try going before lunch and then you know your parcel will definitely go that day They do everything from currency and all the usual postal needs, from recorded to specials and parcels

The people that leave negative reviews here clearly have nothing better to do with their lives. I use this post office every day and the four members of staff that work here are such nice people. Very down to earth and always happy and smiling, would happily recommend this service to anyone local. Best PO in Bristol

There was a bit of a wait, however that's to be expected during busy times. The person who served me was helpful and I was able to send my Special Delivery package.

Awful customer service. The MANAGER picked up his phone whilst I had to wait for him to finish to post my items, then I got told that “He is the manager” and that he can “do what he wants” ( his own words) I suggest posting from the cooperative etc, do not waste your time as they will only waste yours followed by extremely unacceptable behaviour.

A periodical need to come here and pay bills and naturally first port of call if I needed stamps. I expect to also come here and sort out one's Passport and Driving Licence when I need to. I do recall the old Crown Office literally feet away in Cannon Street (now a William Hill betting shop) but this modern shop unit I find is good. Staff have been efficient and pleasant. I note for what I need it can also be handled at the counter by the door. Which is very helpful as it can get extremely busy at times and one can't even get in the door! Still it works and is needed. So the Post Office Crown Office is still a part of the landscape. I cannot fault it.

Excellent customer service and great facilities

Took a passport in there for check and send yesterday 11/2/19, was charged £9.85 for this service but the manager of the store wasn't experienced in the way the form had to be filled out. She told me I'd filled it in incorrectly and that I had to go away and redo it and still charged me £9.85. I wasnt convinced that she was right, as she said a new rule had come in! So I rang passport office and they comfirmed that basically she didn't have a clue what she was talking about and shed gave me the wrong information!!! So i went bk in to comfront her and she was very rude saying that she was right,so after she rang her office then passport office she then confirmed that SHE WAS WRONG, I then argued a refund for the check and send price which I finally got. Seriously poor service and no knowledge of correct procedure for passports, will never use that store again utterly disgusted.

A lot of problems with this post office lately, either with staffing or equipment not working. Last week there was a sign up saying closed for 20 minutes due to only one member of staff serving in the shop because another staff member had nipped out; weeks before that a stressed staff member announced, 'Sorry I'm on my own, can't serve in the post office.' It's poor and frustrating, especially since this used to be a dedicated, staffed post office service not just relying on shop workers to man it

Would give no stars, if I could. Rarely open when it's supposed to be. Makeshift signs saying closed, but no indication when it will be open again. When asked, staff say it opens at 6am, but would be more helpful if open in Sundays and evening after work, as the post office website says.

Whenever I need to post a letter or parcel this post office is open and happy to serve me. The staff are always polite and helpful. They are open the hours they advertise which is more than I can say for some other post office counters locally. Thank you!

The lady over the post office counter doesn’t have any clue on DVLA forma and process. I would expect them to have basic knowledge on postal orders; I am shocked to see such employees are producing postal order. #FAIL #NeedsImprovement #DVLA

After changing the staff few months ago, the service has improved a great deal. Especially there are a young man who is very efficient, polite and knows about every service I have asked him about. He is really an asset for this branch.

Terrible service. Nice lady in a local post office gave me a direct number due to the royal mail automated number being useless. The member of staff who I got through too couldn't care less and basically pushed me back on the the automated help line.

Able to drop off a large parcel

They sent my parcel to yatton in error they said it would be re routes immediately 3 days later no movement also I payed for 2-3 day delivery estimate I have still not received my parcel it was a Christmas present for my parents I was highly embarrassed when it did not show if there was a lower rating I would give it for the lies and me paying the extra money assuring me it would be here for Christmas I had to get last minute presents which weren’t half as good so I had to pay for that as well I am very dissapointed and they haven’t offered any compensation even though it still hasn’t arrived avoid this company at all cost

The most poor service I received ever!!! I wanted to post a parcel. I had no packaging material at home and I thought I buy one in the store. I found one and bough it. It's pretty inconvenient that the packaging materials are sold separately by the store McColl's, so have to queue twice when even you need an envelope. But what was really frustrating that I wanted to send the parcel with signed 1st class service and the branch had no sign form. Consequently the lady advised me to visit another branch. There was no any sign form, it's a joke. I did not want to waste my time to go to another store, so I waived my signature request. Than I asked the lady if she could put a seal to the edge of the parcel, because I bought the PostOffice carton box there which contained no any sticker for sealing. The lady refused sealing the parcel by saying that she has nothing to seal the parcel with. It's really another joke and shame. I think she rather did not want to find even a small sticker to place it on my parcel.

I've spent a long time in the queue here. But the prices and selection are great.

The staff was very rude and moody. She told me not to go there again . If her behaviour as I mentioned liked this, in a year there will no customer go there. If she did 1 customer everyday, they will loose 312 in a year. It happened today , Wednesday at about 4.30 p.m.

I really loath having to go in here, and after today's encounter I won't be again. The woman that works here is the rudest person I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. I really don't know how she get away with it, she must be driving customers away. This was definitely the last time I use my local post office again and if it disappears from our high street it will be her fault for driving all the customers away

Friendly staff help me with my passport application very quick service

I have ordered a redelivery from this PO for the same parcel 3 times now but it has still not turned up, I suspect the postman is deliberately not delivering it. They do deliver plenty of junk mail though! I am about to make a formal complaint.

I'm afraid I have to agree with the other comments. I have to drop off a parcel this morning & not looking forward to the customer service. My 'hello' will be left hanging. There will be no smile, eye contact, possibly some pointing, some tutting. Staff may wander off for an unannounced time out. There will be no thank-you or goodbye, & that's if I'm the perfect customer, If I error this may be my first & last review. Wish me luck

Rude staff - every one of them. Not interested in you if you've pre-paid online and need proof of postage which saves everyone time. Even when paying for a postal service, they huff and puff and act like you've asked them to do something extraordinary. Will avoid here and go to another post office.

The shop staff are usually friendly. However I had a very poor experience with the post office counter staff. I have never experienced such an argumentative person in a customer service position before. I asked for her help - a small piece of sellotape to stick down a faulty address label on my parcel. She told me that i had to go back to the shop, buy a roll of sellotape and queue again to send the parcel. When I politely expressed my surprise that she couldn't offer me that small assistance, she harangued me. She harangued me a second time time and put words into my mouth after I had queued a second time to send the parcel. I understand that she may have been operating within post office guidelines. However, her attitude and response were quite shocking. I left before I lost my temper, with her shouting after me.

Why is the Post Office going down the tube? This branch a good example, the staff just laugh when I point that out that the wrong opening times are given on the website "it's been like that for two years..." they tell me...

I thought it was just me, but after reading, I can see that it definitely isn’t. Although I have a business where I use the Royal Mail every day and this is my closest Post Office, we actively go further and have opened a business drop and go account with another post office as the staff, and one person in particular is so openly rude and bullish that we just didn’t want that in our day. Weirdly defensive for no reason: as i sometimes have large quantities of parcels, I have scales and the letter measurements at home so I can organise them so I’m less time in the queue when I can’t use drop and go. I asked if I should start with the large letters or small packages first. She got so offended that I had done this. She for some reason presumed I was trying to tell her how to do her job. This was my first experience— every experience since has been as bad. Every time I have been, without fail, they have been rude at or about a customer right in front of them, or, as they’re leaving in front of another customer. Once I was tired as I’d had a rough night and had some bad news I was dealing with, one of them told me to “wake up”— you can’t write this stuff, it’s so bad.

It is never open. On the mornings post office attendant is always 10 or even (on one occasion) 20 minutes late for work, lunch brake is more than one hour, and then there are constant brakes. She probably gets full salary... Online it states that this post office is open at this moment. Well .. it is closed, shutters down and I am sitting across the street right now and have been waiting for nearly an hour. There are already 10 people waiting outside by the shutters. Can anyone sort this place out.

Me and my girlfriend went down there to send a medium parcel with a few books inside only weighing 2kg cause of box and the staff on shift tried to get her to pay 20 pounds to send it off. She had a second class stamp all signed for but she said that it was too heavy for that which it wasn't as a 2kg second class is 5.05. We tried to explain that and she got rude at us telling us basically to pay the 20 pound or to go away. They need to sort things out there as they are clearly ripping people off!

Just used the place, while there is Que quite often they do achieve the purpose. It would be nice if they offered the different options for sending items. (I wasn't offered recorded or special delivery) but the staff kept calm and did the job well.

Don't both with this post office. Tried to send a parcel back and after them telling me i was doing the return label wrong she changed it after i paid and had left, the parcel arrive at my address not back to the online store. Brain dead staff

This service would be a lot more useful if the shop sold any packing materials larger than an envelope... Don't expect to be able to send a parcel here unless you packaged everything elsewhere.

Its a bank, use it or lose it

Investing your money in a bank that only funds environmentally conncious projects is a great way of making a difference. One of the biggest steps an individual can take and it will barely cause any inconvenience. I have found Tridos to be as good as my previous bank.

One major problem encountered - which received a pretty dismissive response from the Customer Services team - although to be fair it's more of a strategic issue than a day - day operational problem. I attempted to pay a large cash sum from a pension into my Triodos current account. The pensions company (a large UK insurance firm) was unable to make the payment as Triodos are not on their list of approved banks for anti money laundering purposes. Fortunately I was able to make the payment into a current account I have with one of the big four banks. The point - which I attempted to make to Triodos customer services - is that while Triodos might consider itself a 'real' bank there are significant and major issues which they need to address before they are able to offer a full banking service. Clearly Triodos is not yet seen as an established member of the UK financial services sector. That said the day - day operation of the Triodos current account seems to be working well so far though limitations such as no overdraft, lack of branches, difficulty of paying in cash etc. may cause difficulties for some customers. On a positive note pretty much anything you need to do in terms of configuring the current account and debit card can be done easily on line. One feature which I find exceptionally useful and a security 'plus' is the text message which can be set for card debit transactions. The text usually pings on my phone before I've left the store. Other useful features such as balance updates, warning if balance drops below x etc. All in all for day-day use the Triodos current account is now my account of choice. Well worth the £3.00 a month, even though other (possibly less ethical) banks provide 'free' banking. There is a lack of integration within their internet banking system which means that as an existing customer a full application form has to be completed in order to apply for e.g. a savings account. Triodos also (strangely nowadays) uses snail mail a lot for communication. Again this is an indication of the lack of integration within Internet Banking. At this stage I would say use Triodos for its ethical views (which can at times be somewhat extreme,one sided and lack nuance), the ways it tries to manage money for social good and ease of use and security of their current account. But for serious banking which may involve cross institutional money transfers, overdrafts, loans etc. stay with one of the major players

Contacted the bank ref. an environmental project as i understood this was their speciality , but I was met with arrogance on the reception and no one had the courtesy to return my enquiry...a big shock .

Great service great bank! So important to know that ones savings are doing good in the world. Not supporting .... exploitation of the poor ... chopping down rain forests.. selling weapons to rogue states ... destroying our beautiful planet for the sake of money. An ethical bank is not easy to find. Even less easy is it to find a reliable bank which gives one a sense of confidence. Clearly it is growing and I have every confidence that it will go on to grow and become an example to the, sometimes less than ethical, banking community.

Customer service is good in branch but trying to telephone your local branch is near on impossible

I have used HSBC for about 20 years now, in fact I own several board lots of shares and have done since I worked in Hong Kong in the 90s. From the last days of it being Midland bank, just before being bought out. Whilst not the closest bank to me, far from it, I haven't really had any negative experiences with HSBC or this branch so I foresee my continued use.

I recently went to the Branh to get help with urgent Bank statements, The Customer Service officer promptly understood my needs, printed the necessary information and similarly organised the usual statements to be sent to my home. Although a 15 mins mtg, I was left very impressed with this very profesional service, from beginnning to end. Well done for this excellent work and do keep this great service up!

I work in all Barclays Branches. This one is very busy and usually understaffed. My advice is make an appointment or try to use their banking machines to perform any transactions.. Although most enquiries can be dealt with through the online banking facility.

if i could give 0 stars believe me i would. The staff were incredible rude they were unwelcoming and have a very unapproachable face. The lady with bright red hair i would advice you to stay away from her. She asked me to get out my reference i proceeded to get it out and show her it she didn't even take one look at it. She told me a gentleman is before me in a rude tone. I don't get why she asked me to bring it out to get it in the first place if she wasn't going to look at it .She treated me very different from other customers i felt singled out and uncomfortable . I then left and went to HSBC where i was warmly welcomed.

Terrible service. My partner came in to pay some cash into my bank account for me with a pay in slip that I filled out and was told he is not aloud to pay money in to someone else account, yet whenever my mum comes in they let her do it. Would hate to think you are discriminating someone for the way they look.

Turned up to the branch to open an account . The chubby gentleman in a suite who I forgot the name of was not happy to see us , he was from what we could see not interested in serving us. After explaining we are existing customers wanting to open a joint account . His answer was I can't do anything for you go to cribbs causeway. If service with a smile is what you are looking for avoid this branch.

Tried to change small amount of money from cash to coins at your Barclays branch 86 Queens Road, after 15 min of queuing I've been told by older gentleman behind the counter that he needs to know the reason and purpose of use for the coins (do I need to confess what I spend my money for in front of 10 people in a queue??) and that I'm breaking T&C of my account. My understanding was that banks are to provide money services to its customers but apparently older gentleman's vision was different. Due to level of service I decided to cancel the transaction. Finalised it at Lloyds branch just few doors down - quickly, no question asked, super nice service. I'll be closing my personal & saving accounts with Barclays and moving to Lloyds. 1/10

Barclays Bank Queens Road, Bristol. Sign says open at 9.30am but, did not open until 9.33am. Then got to customer desk and waited 5mins for member of staff to finish typing something on his computer. Then told he is now closed .. even though he had just opened! Staff unhelpful and obnoxious.. I hate this bank with a vengeance. DO NOT BANK WITH THESE IDIOTS.

Sad to see so many negative comments. I have been pretty nicely welcomed, told i might wait around 15 minutes wich was fine by me, and actually had someone to help me after 2 minutes, she was lovely and really helpfull.

I am considering switching to another bank, I went to several branches to discuss details. In every single one staff were helpful and polite, they told me everything I wanted to know. Not in HSBC. I was talking to a millenial girl who was acting like I was causing her great pain just by talking to her - it was Saturday ~ 10 AM, I was the only customer in the bank and I wanted to ask some questions about HSBC's products. I read about bank's offer on the website before going to the branch, but I went anyway to ask some additional questions. For every question I asked I got "it is literally all on the website!" with eyes rolling and the tone of voice suggesting that the only thing she wants is to make me leave as soon as possible. If EVERYTHING is on the website, then what's the point of employing a person like her in the first place? I bet that any chatbot would do a far better job than a person angry at the entire world just because she has to work. HSBC was my primary candidate for switching, but after that display of customer service I am not even considering this company anymore. It's good that I know how it looks now, rather than when I am their customer.

They were slow, inefficient, un friendly and slapped bank charges on us for not keeping a minimum £1000 in the account before they gave us the account details to be able to pay in money ! We went to Lloyds who did everything in a week instead of 3 months.

This bank is AWFUL!!!!! You can't get through on the phone EVER!!! I put MY cash in ..the same day they mistakenly charged a cheque from another customer on to MY account for £350 I had to inform them...they didn't know!!! The manager said (in person, as I said they don't answer the phones) she rectified THEIR ERROR!!! SHE STILL HAS NOT!!! I CAN'T GET AN ANSWER OR MY MONEY OUT!!!! DONT BANK HERE. THEY ARE DREADFUL!!!!!!!! ONE STAR IS TOO MUCH!!!

Fantastic service. Went into branch to cancel my direct debit. There was a big queue but someone approached me with an IPad, he was lovely I later found out he was the manager ! He showed me how to do it on my phone and then I found out they could give me money every month for my bank account. Very friendly would definitely recommend

Absolutely horrific. Disorganized. Unknowledgeable. Went for an appointment on the 18th of December only to be directed to a person who was "attending to an entirely different job", spent about 20 minutes trying to look for someone who could attend to me before she herself took me on, utterly disinterested. She then said I needed to print a letter I had shown her an electronic version of - fair enough. Everything seemed to be in order, it was simply that she needed a paper copy of the letter. She instructs me to come back the next day at midday and that she will tell her colleagues to expect me and help me as soon as possible. I come back the next day only to be dismissed immediately and almost turned back by a manager citing short-handedness as the issue even though I was supposed to be expected back. As I explain what transpired the day before, they rudely ask for confirmation and personal ID. They direct me to an employee that looked incredibly and entirely displeased to see me. I have never felt so unwelcome anywhere. The employee spends the better part of 10 minutes scouring the letter from the uni (about 2 paragraphs confirming my address) which I printed off earlier only to later tell me that it wasn't acceptable as it didn't have the EXACT room number I was living in, something that was NEVER mentioned to me the day before when I was in. As I explained to her that the employee I had seen the day before said everything was in order, the only response I got was a "sorry" as she continuously scrolled, paying NO attention to me. I was shown the door and that was that. A terrible experience through and through. I am enraged at the manner in which I was treated at a seemingly reputed bank. Your staff were entirely unhelpful and unsympathetic. Absolutely appalling customer service - or to be more accurate, the lack-thereof. Safe to say, will never be back.

The young employees are fast, professional and nice. It's cool to see Barclays employing young people.

Staff on the ground floor need to be trained better on polite and professional customer service.

Avoid Barclays! As an international student I found it very difficult to even get an appointment to open an account. I came to the Broadmead branch and they sent me to a different branch who then told me I needed to get a letter from the University before I could even get an appointment (which nobody told me when I started the process in the first place!) Once I got the letter the other branch sent me back to Broadmead. I finally got the account open and the app wont recognize my phone number and online it won't accept my CV code. The info from PinSentry reader that (I finally received) didn't work either. And after a few weeks of having the card it got declined because they decided to replace my card for no reason.

Very poor service levels. Do not deal with queries or subsequent complaints that arise!
